Veolia, the global leader in optimized environmental resources management, will this year celebrate World Water Day on Sunday 22nd March with a series of events designed to raise awareness of water and sustainable development.
Observed since March 22nd 1993, World Water Day has been held annually by the United Nations with an aim to focus attention on the importance of freshwater and to promote the sustainable management of freshwater sources. Each year, the theme for World Water Day is different, with the focus this year being Water and Sustainable Development – how water links to all areas needed to create a sustainable future.
To celebrate this particular theme, Veolia has organized a series of events around the Gulf Countries, including:
Provide an Expert Talk at the Sultan Qaboos University in Oman where Veolia water quality expert Nicolas Le Goff will speak to students and attendees about water quality monitoring from the sea to the tap. This Expert Talk will be conducted at the occasion of the Sustainable Agriculture and Marine Environment (SAME) seminar.
Support Alliance Francaise in Dubai to with educational material about the water cycle and recycling;
Creating an employee photo campaign called “Water Heroes” where Veolia team from around the Gulf Countries share their say about World Water Day and how they contribute to preserve this precious resource. The statements and illustrative pictures are published on a website special as well as on the company’s LinkedIn page
